Jazair Awards – Volunteer Code of Ethics

Purpose of this Guide:
This code aims to define the rules, obligations, values, and principles that all Jazair Awards volunteers are expected to uphold. It outlines the requirements and duties of volunteers while safeguarding their rights. Adherence to this code promotes the effective and respectful performance of all responsibilities and ensures a successful and harmonious experience for everyone involved.

1. Values and Ethics

Every action must be guided by ethical standards rooted in the values of Algerian society and responsible citizenship. Therefore, each volunteer shall:

  • Uphold values based on integrity, honesty, and national pride.

  • Act responsibly in carrying out their duties, positively reflecting the image of the Jazair Awards and Algeria.

  • Perform volunteer work with honesty, integrity, and adherence to the principles of volunteerism.

  • Treat everyone with dignity, respect, and fairness.

2. Confidentiality

Volunteer activities may involve access to sensitive or confidential information. Volunteers must:

  • Refrain from disclosing information regarding participants, guests, or internal operations of the event.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all documents and information during and after the completion of their service.

3. Reliability and Responsibility

Volunteers are expected to demonstrate commitment and reliability by:

  • Diligently fulfilling the tasks assigned to them.

  • Consulting with their coordinator or designated authority when encountering challenges or issues.

  • Recognizing that they represent both the Jazair Awards and, by extension, Algeria.

4. Effective Communication

Clear and respectful communication is essential for collective success. Volunteers should:

  • Use the opportunity to develop their professional and interpersonal skills.

  • Be well-informed to accurately respond to questions regarding event policies and procedures.

  • Communicate respectfully, clearly, and constructively with colleagues, guests, and supervisors.

5. Spirit of Support

Each volunteer plays an essential role in the success of the event. Volunteers are expected to:

  • Support fellow volunteers and assist visitors within their assigned areas.

  • Contribute actively to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

6. Positive Attitude

Volunteers must maintain a respectful, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude throughout their service, even in the face of challenges.

7. Professionalism

The quality of volunteer work is a key measure of success. Volunteers are expected to:

  • Continually seek ways to enhance their work methods and performance.

  • Deliver work at the highest possible standard of quality.

  • Manage their personal conduct to ensure it does not negatively impact the reputation of the Jazair Awards.

8. Respect for Authority

Compliance with official regulations and organizational procedures is essential. Volunteers must:

  • Carry out their duties according to the instructions provided.

  • Abide by the regulations and policies of the Jazair Awards.

  • Protect all property and resources entrusted to them.

  • Refrain from making commitments on behalf of the Jazair Awards without proper authorization.

9. Conflict of Interest

To preserve impartiality and independence:

  • Volunteers must not use Jazair Awards resources for personal purposes.

  • Volunteers must avoid accepting gifts, services, or favors that could compromise their objectivity, except in cases permitted by customs of hospitality.

10. Equality

The Jazair Awards are committed to promoting equality and inclusion. Volunteers must not engage in or tolerate any form of discrimination based on race, color, gender, age, nationality, religion, or physical or mental disability.
